Question About the Actual Application to Squadrons
Good evening,
I want to know if I have to submit another application packet to squadrons that ask for such packets to be submitted to a specific e-mail on their website. Will the Bogidope application suffice this requirement? Or will I have to submit one through Bogidope and another copy to that e-mail as well? Thanks.
tristan-marti Every squadron handles their hiring boards differently. You need to follow the specific application instructions for each slot you're applying to (attention to detail is a screening mechanism).
Almost all squadrons post their jobs on MilRecruiter (BogiDope). Not all squadrons collect applications through MilRecruiter, though. Some want a single PDF via email, some through their state HR departments or recruiters, and a lot through MilRecruiter. It would be great if it were standardized, but one thing you'll come to find with this career is that the government is VERY slow to adopt "new" technology.
So, for your particular case, if it says to email them, you need to send your application via email.
Varsity-level tactic - Every squadron that posts jobs on MilRecruiter can see any applications that are submitted to their squadron via MilRecruiter. So, if they ask you to submit via email, you NEED to submit via email. BUT if you also submit via MilRecruiter, the next time they log on, you might be one of the few applications they see on their MilRecruiter account and they may decide to take a look. In this case, it's a way to potentially get their attention and stand out from a crowded field when you submit in both places.
Good luck!
